Rock a bye baby....

I know I should have posted pictures of our finished babies room before Colin arrived but I didn't get around to it. When I was picking up the house the other day I thought Mike and I both worked hard to finish Colin's room so I should show it off especially for all the hard work Mike put in to help get it done.

I made the bedding....SURPRISE! I'm not one for projects but I couldn't find anything I wanted to buy in the stores so I decided to make my own. I wanted it to be super simple. We went for an antique baseball look for the theme of the room. We are hoping Colin doesn't hate baseball when he is old enough to realize how his room is decorated.

You probably can't tell but in the three red frames are a picture of Colin's Grandpa Parker, Papa Sorensen and Mike playing baseball when they were little boys (this is my favorite part about his room).
Mike painted the room, put up the railing on the wall, put the glider chair together and hung all the pictures on the wall. He only managed to almost take his eye out with a nail once. It turned out just how I wanted it. Hopefully this doesn't bore everyone too much but I had to show off our handy work....it's pretty limited in our home.

2 Weeks.....

I know it has only been two weeks but I thought I would share a couple pictures we have taken of Colin for anyone who is interested. He really doesn't do much but eat, sleep, and poop. But we still find him very interested and love everything about him. We still can't decide who he looks like but each day he changes so we will just wait and see if he is a Sorensen or Parker look.

This is a super funny face but he thinks he can already hold his head up so we had to take a picture.

We are looking forward to sunshine so he can wear his summer clothes even though they are still too big for him! He is wearing a pair of shorts but they are almost to his armpits and they still go to his ankles.....not much hope for height on this guy.

On your mark get set GO....

We....meaning Mike has ran his first run of the season. Due to my "hangover" in the front I was un able to run the race but this did mean we could finally get some pictures at the end of a race. Most the time Mike and I are both running in the race so we never get pictures. The Sorensen family all went to St. George for the weekend to run in the race and enjoy the sunshine. We had a great time and look forward to going every year!

Who will he look like?

We are taking a poll to decide who Baby Sorensen will look like, the two contestants are "Mr. Comb-Over" or "Miss Extra Chin" (good thing I had an extra chin to hold my head up because there is no sign of a neck).

Wont you be my neighbor?

I had to post about my very own Mr. Rogers. Recently Mike has been into wearing sweaters to work which I'm not complaining about because I am the one buying the sweaters for him but the other morning he came out in this sweater and said I look like Mr. Rogers. I laughed and he spent the next 15 minutes pretending to be him. However, I had to take a picture of him eating his breakfast in his Mr. Rogers sweater because this does make him like an old man. A typical day for Mike is a bowl of cereal, two pieces of toast and some sort of reading material. He usually reads the paper but in case our paper boy fails us he pulls out a book. You might think that just your grandparents have the same routine and breakfast every morning but no my Mr. Rogers does too. I am one lucky girl!

5 Things to remember from 2009!

-This doesn't count as one of the 5 but I remembered my password so I could post something on our blog--yeah for smart Andrea!

Reflecting on 2009:

Number ONE: We announced we would be expecting or first baby (boy) in May of 2010!

Number TWO: We continued to complete races and added in some bike riding this year--luckily with the new baby coming we get to take a break from the Wasatch back relay this year!

--I wasn't as excited about the bike ride as my dad and Mike were....I think it shows!

Number THREE: Both Mike's sister and brother got married!

Number FOUR: I (Andrea) put on and took off braces in the same year.....sorry to all those teens out there who had to wear them for 2 to 3 years aka Mike!

I probably should have had them on longer, well in fact I know I should have had them on longer but thanks to Curt and Annie for getting married I got them off early. I'm not complaining!!!

Number FIVE: Mike was diagnosed with testicular cancer. However, surgery was successful and we have avoided Chemo or radiation so far. He will still go back every three months to determine if it returns but for now we are very grateful for the postive outcome from surgery. Thanks again to everyone for your support!!

This is the only picture I could find of Mike post surgery....he had plenty of time during his recovery to catch up on movies, magazines and sleep! Kennedi and Mike demonstrated a little of the movie watching. He was more than glad to go back to work after Christmas....it can get a little boring at home all day with not a lot to do.

2009 was full of adventure and we can't wait to start another year! Happy 2010!
